Parents Taking Charge in Education Blog Post: Summer Fun, Is School Out? http://mrsdbarron.blogspot.com/2011/05/summer-fun-is-school-out-by-mrs-dorothy_5352.html
At the end of last week’s post, titled: Terrorism: When Do We Root It Out in America, my request was that you obtain “a grain of sand” and meet me back here this week. Thank you for returning. Did you obtain your grain; was it difficult separating or viewing a single grain of sand? My family and/or I have vacationed on and/or visited a few beaches; some of which were South Carolina’s Myrtle Beach and others in Florida, Alabama, and Puerto Rico. Although, there are many fascinating things about and on beaches, a description of them can be summed up for me in one word; “endless.” The body of water seems to go on and on; as does the sand which covers the beach. The minuteness of a single grain of sand in comparison to the entire amount covering a single beach is unfathomable. Just think, if one combined grains of sand from all beaches throughout the world; it is inconceivable.
Why are sand and beaches being discussed, here? First, I would like to utilize a statement made in last week’s post to illustrate man’s limited power in an effort to emphasize the importance of placing man’s limited power in proper perspective. My statement on last week, “may I encourage you to remember that regardless of how powerful some may seem and/or their directives to use this invisible energy and powerful electromagnetic frequencies and fields to impose fear, intimidation and domination of others, ultimate power does not rest with any man or woman.” As I illustrate the importance of placing man’s limited power in proper perspective, I do not in any form or fashion advocate that anyone thumb his/her nose at or disregard those in power. My point is to use sand and beaches here, to illustrate the difference between man’s limited power versus the omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient power of THE CREATOR (GOD), and liken such to the following: man’s total power is equal to a single grain of sand v. THE CREATOR’s, whose power can be likened to sand from all the beaches in the world, combined.
Such brings us to today’s subject post, Powerful Friends and Powerful Kin Most of us are aware of the advantages of having powerful friends and/or relatives. My powerful friends and kin consist of the following: I have a friend in Jesus; The Holy Spirit and other celestial beings befriend me; Jesus, being the Son of GOD is my brother and we are joint-heirs and I am GOD’s child; he is my FATHER and I, his daughter. When you have such powerful friends and kin and in such high places, you do not live in despondency and fear. Having these Powerful Friends and Power Kin enable me to have harmony, a peace that surpasseth all understanding, unswerving faith, protection and access to all good things.
Let me further illustrate the limitation of man’s power by sharing snippets of three men’s lives (citations at the end of the post) using the three dominating forces that exist within a society. I will show how each man utilized that which he was privileged to possess and the outcome.
- Authority/Power- The ruler, Haman was not the king; he was second in command. Haman’s hatred of a man by the name of Mordecai and his race caused Haman to put a plan in motion to wipe out an entire race of people. Sadly, Haman’s plan backfired and destroyed not only him, but his 10 sons as well.
- Prestige/Fame- Naaman had fame and was a man of war, he was afflicted with a dreadful disease which adversely affected his life and would have ended his military career. When his pride became a barrier, one of his servants appealed to him in a strategic way, which allowed Naaman to view his predicament from a military perspective. He ceased in his pride and commenced to follow specific orders that he had earlier received and dismissed; his health was fully restored, which allowed his military career to continue.
- Wealth- Even though rich, this man was not significant enough to be mentioned by name in the telling of his story. As the story goes, this rich man was in the act of considering building larger facilities because his present ones could no longer hold all his amassed wealth (fruits/goods). What he did not consider or know- he was to lose his life on that evening, be called a fool, condemned and left with the question; to whom would his possessions now belong?
The aforementioned men were not condemned for having authority, prestige and/or riches; each however, was called into account of his actions and/or the way in which he used that which he was privileged to possess. As we can see, as great as each man, he had limited power.
When you come to the realization of who you are; who your friends and kin are and the fact that your FATHER, the CREATOR of the Universe possesses all POWER, you cease to live and walk in fear; you begin to put things in proper prospective, thus obtaining courage and confidence as you begin to live and walk by faith.
Citations for the three men mentioned above are from The Holy Bible: Haman (Esther 2: 5 - 9:16; 10:3); Naaman (II. Kings 5:1- 14), the Rich Man (Luke 12: 16-20); these and other stories inspire faith, courage and perseverance; they teach valuable and core value lessons.
