An Interview with the Author, Mrs. Dorothy Barron of “Slinging Stones when United States Congress has lost control and American Courts are out of control”

Interviewer: Your book presents and discusses a number of themes- courts, government, The Constitution of the United States, education, healthcare, etc. Will the reader get lost or confused in its 184 pages?

Mrs. Barron: Not at all; one way to view the book is from the perspective that you are going along on a journey with one woman and viewing what she experiences. The book is direct, to the point with explanations and exhibits/evidence. I have received very positive feedback from those brave enough to purchase the book. Some were able to summarize the book’s focal points better than I.

Interviewer: What makes you an authority or expert on the subject matter of your book?

Mrs. Barron: The word expert is often overrated. From an authoritative standpoint, I have a wealth of over 25 years of advocacy experience, many of which are in the areas which I address in the book. The book also details my personal experiences with officers of the government, administrators and their actions as well as others in my 10 cases. Exhibits prove my assertions and I cite from the two highest authorities that exist (secular and Biblical).

Interviewer: Who is Mrs. Dorothy Barron?

Mrs. Dorothy Barron: A woman like many other women who wear a variety of hats. I am one of seven daughters, a consummate lover of books and possibly why I have always had an opinion about most things. In some areas and skills, I am self-taught. My personal goal has always been to be the very best that I could be as an individual, wife, mother, etc. I am a Christian, and my spiritual goal has always been to be pleasing and acceptable to God regardless of the cost and always true to self. When very young, elderly women would tell me that I was a “proper child (from a spiritual aspect),” but, I believe that we have all been place here for a unique and distinct purpose. Believe it or not, I heard my calling at age 9, but it would be a few years later before I would begin to fulfill it (I share the experience in Slinging Stones…). Finally, I enjoy solitude for a number of reasons; 1) It gives me the opportunity to ponder, meditate and think deeply and 2) after assisting others and giving 100% (I see so much potential in everyone I meet), solitude affords me the opportunity to regroup and recharge my energies.

Interviewer: You also have an impressive volunteer record- 25 years of volunteer service, working with youth of which many years were spent volunteering full-time within and outside the schools, as well as assisting parents. You even co-founded and served as Director of a parenting organization without pay. You have received over 30 awards.

Mrs. Dorothy Barron: The need was there and it afforded me the opportunity to work with young people from all socio-economic levels of society and then predominantly with those who were disadvantaged most in life. If we are wise, we can learn much from children. Little did I realize that what I learned then, would now serve to assist me.

Interviewer: In and throughout your book, you mention your ten cases. Who are the cases against?

Mrs. Dorothy Barron: Seven cases/complaints were filed against the government, officers and administrators of the government; the case against the University of Tennessee (UT) also was a case against the government. According to the federal court judge in this case, UT was an arm of the State of Tennessee. There were two cases against the healthcare giant- HCA (at the time I filed these two cases, members of then, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist’s family owned HCA). From a manner of speaking, they all involved the government.

Interviewer: I imagine you know something about healthcare.

Mrs. Dorothy Barron: Yes, but who at this point is listening? So many are ruled by emotion and fear- fear of not getting or fear of losing health coverage and survival. A national healthcare system was put in place- decades ago and long before this present administration took office. As I stated in the past, funding is not going to be the major problem. Much of traditional medical care as we now know it will cease to be. Food for thought- If municipalities and states become bankrupt as predicted by the government, will those who now have medical coverage be able to retain it?

Interviewer: What purpose (s) does the book serve?

Mrs. Dorothy Barron: The book, Slinging Stones when United State Congress has lost control and American Courts are out of control serves a number of purposes. Three major purposes: 1) The book serves as a documented record of one woman’s search (mine) for answers and justice in a country that advocates and models itself on principles of democracy, justice and liberty, but has little to none for many of its own citizens; 2) it assists those who have been through the judicial system and did not receive justice and/or those who cannot get their cases into a court of law understand why and 3) the book reveals, addresses and documents with exhibits in order to assist the reader with understanding how and why social and government programs continue to fail and are in crisis.

Interviewer: What is difficult to conceive and understand is why you have not received legal representation, assistance, justice, especially since you have documented proof which showed that others violated your rights and in which you have submitted to those in authority and government administrators.

Mrs. Dorothy Barron: The majority of Americans have become an army of unwilling subjects driven by fear and self-interest! One, or both often keep many from standing for truth, adhering to the law, and doing the right thing. When we become this fearful and self-focused, we have already lost and are lost as a nation.

Interviewer: Is there anyone left to turn to? What now?

Mrs. Dorothy Barron: Maybe not here on earth, but my charge is to keep the faith until God chooses to change the situation. Sometimes the situation involves us, but is not necessarily or totally about us. I refer you to the Blog Post I wrote on July 3, 2009, titled, Treasures- How Rich Are You? Sometimes God is preparing us for greater things to come, answering our or someone else’s prayer, chastising us, allowing others to test our faith, or are about to show or exert his power, etc. We need to remember that God is alive and still in control; ultimate power belongs to him. I am mindful of one of the richest men who lived, the Old Testament character by the name of Job. Even after he had lost all his riches and all his children in one day, was reduced to boils that covered him from head to feet, he was able to keep his faith in God and declare "all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change comes" (Job 14:14 Bible, KJV). To understand what led to Job’s statement, read Job, Chapters 1 and 2 (Bible, KJV). Sometimes, situations occur that we have no control over and after we have done all that we can do, we have to wait for God to intervene.

Interviewer: Should we tell the public why or for what reason you have had to crawl out of your house on a regular basis for five weeks?

Mrs. Dorothy Barron: I would like to table the question for now.

Interviewer: My final question is this- the last chapter of your book is titled, TEKEL America, TEKEL. What does the word “TEKEL” mean or signify?

Mrs. Dorothy Barron: If we did not have this wonderful tool called the Internet, I would be tempted to explain or elaborate, but since we do, I am going to give you and others an assignment and challenge. Look up the meaning of “TEKEL” and determine how it fits with the title of my book, “Slinging Stones when United States Congress has lost control and American Courts are out of control.”
